Camp Update: Copy of email sent to participants 6/15/2018

Our first annual Perryville Soccer Clinic Summer Camp is just a few days from kicking off!  We're so excited that you have enrolled your child to participate!  Camp Directors, Jerry Fulton and Caitlin Pistorio, have recruited a great group of individuals from around the area to help make this an awesome experience for the kids.

Below are a few IMPORTANT topics to cover prior to dropping your child off on Monday.  Please take the time to read through each item and reach out if you have any further questions:

Drop Off: All participants should be dropped off at the pavilion area by the concession stand and ready for the activities to begin at 5:00.  The camp crew will be at this location each evening.  Camp shirt and ball will be given out on the first night. **On Monday each parent is asked to sign-in their child and provide a phone number that a parent/guardian can be contacted at quickly should there be a need for it.

1st Grade Group: Through the final planning process, it was discussed that this age group may have a difficult time participating in the full 2.5 hours.  The directors have assured us that they will have fun activities and take frequent breaks to keep the kids hydrated, their energy level spread out, and fully entertained. But, should children show signs of being tired, loosing interest or being too hot, they will be sent to their parents for you to decide how to proceed with the evening.  Mostly, they are concerned about the last hour of the training so we encourage parents of this age group to be on hand around 6:30 should your child need your assistance.

Items to bring: Each child should come wearing their shin guards, soccer socks, and outdoor soccer cleats and should bring their camp ball with them each evening.  It is very important for each child to have a ball each evening.  PLEASE ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR CHILD HAS PLENTY OF WATER.  It is expected to be a very warm week. There will be frequent water breaks provided throughout each evening.  Our local Buchheit's store has generously donated a supply of bottled water to keep on hand in case anyone needs it. You may also consider applying sunscreen to your child prior to them arriving.

Goalie Training: Coach Matt Spinner from PHS is one of the adult trainers at the camp next week.  Matt specializes in goalie training.  He has offered to carve out some time during the camp to specifically focus on this area, provided there is enough interest.  Do you have a kiddo that wants to participate in goalie training?  Please send an email to bbalsman@remax.net to let us know if your child is interested in this specialized training.
